    Hi Templeton

    I'd like to think so. At least UCG can produce (fuel) electricity with up to 20% less Carbon than Coal. As we know it also produces up to 20 times more energy for the same mass of coal.

    UCG also has Co2 capture and at the end of the day the Cavern can hold a massive amount of Co2.

    Even NASA are working on Co2 conversion methods (just google NASA and Co2 Conversion) .

    The above ground CTG/GTL is expensive and has it's problems. The latest one which I don't know much about, is Siemens in Canada, last I heard it was costing around $11B USD.

    The spanner in the works for CGTL projects is now the massive drop in petroleum prices. However that won't affect us greatly as we don't have any investment in CGTL.

    In short, I agree and I think China are barking up the wrong tree with above ground conversion. The International Community is certainly appearing not happy about it.
