    I thought those black areas to the left ( and some on the right ) were the flooded areas.

    If you change the rendering to "Moisture Index" on the left side, I remember that those black areas were very "moist" ( e.g. water / flood ) whereas they were not that moist ( and no black areas ) before the reported flood.

    Anyway, that was my interpretation, and I could be wrong.
