Hi phishpheet, I don't know why you are pushing the wimax thing so much. It is a fair way off being main stream, imo.

Seems to be we have to get the peoples onto landline voip first with a switch to naked dsl as the next progressive step. The stuff you talk of is of a highly technical nature that is just frankly not in the realm of the bulk of australia's telephone users. Think mums and dads, home accounts, getting rid of Telstra/optus etc. I believe there is better take up of voip from people on cable that are dumping their land lines as the systems are in place. Next step is to move that to Adsl and then progress to naked dsl so we can tell the major telcos where to get off. There is a huge hatred of these co's out there.

I understand your concern about MNF, every thing in technology is a gamble....place your bets.
