ok, so it's a bit pedantic to hang on every word, but

receive... that should not not more than 1 day surely
inspect...if that is looking at the chips, then lets say 1 week (if they are looking with a microscope or something
validate... does this mean doing similar tests to what industry does on their products? does it mean doing the trillion cycles? does it mean just making sure the chip has the sound performance that we are after?

Surely Fred is not flying over only to watch a bunch of guys in lab coats do weeks of validating. I think the trigger for when to expect news is when Fred flies over. If there is bad news, he may fly over. If they are on the cusp of good news, he is expected to fly over.

So the real question (i think) is, where is Fred?
