I'm with you ST. Possible reason I dont use charts is I can neither spell nor draw straight lines but still find it (genuinely) fascinating. My favorite basic definition of "strategy" is "a scaffold for making decisions about how one will play the game at hand" and so to chartists (who stay true to their brief) no matter the origin of the system employed I say bravo as their decision processes are predefined. Unfortunately my agnostic self is still looking (especially with regards penny stocks) for some objective qualitative and quantitative analysis of the outcome benefits of (predictive) charting - over any other method of train spotting.
Guess it is a bit like, that we can borrow a little of the beliefs of a number of religions to become a better, more informed person or we can take a fixed position by being a "fundamentalist" of just 1 persuasion. - sorry et-al I will return to my rock to think some more.
