Andy, the options will be worth much more then $0.004. Plug in the exercise price and expiry date into a black-scholes option pricing model with a relatively high volatility at at a GNI price of $0.015 they are worth more than double $0.004.
The low take up had nothing to do with the quality of the options or of GNI but rather what Megagene said about the small pro rata ratio, general laziness for small amounts, and probably a bit of options ignorance.
I am excited to see what they start trading at and might buy myself a few. The question investors must ask is where do they see the stock price in 4 years.
