Often better to share wisdom than money. Wisdom and education is the real path to prosperity and happiness.

Teaching a man to fish is better than giving him fish etc...

I once met a missionary while volunteering in Africa, they worked on infrastructure projects to help village communities such as constructing a well for clean water and irrigation of crops. They were self sufficient water-wise after the project was complete. Several years later he returned to village and discovered that the well pump mechanism had been sold for scrap metal just because someone wanted some instant profit. No more fresh water for the village.
