Chart Update, page-726

For a change and because I have been looking at how far we have come I have  included  the  shorting chart in this image with specific reference to the shorting peak of August 15, 2017 when just over one percent of the company was shorted.

Wow  what happened on that day ?
Really bad news?

The close on August 14, the day before had been 66c.
Shortman says close to 25 million shares were sold that day and more than three million of them were short sales.
I looked back over the threads where @mmv621 kindly posted that more than 30 million shares went through overall on that day.
It was a HAPPY day - the day NRW announced it was buying Golding .
The open on August 15 was 90c ( thanks again mmv621)
The close was 95c.

If someone wants to explain why there were more than a million short sales I would greatly appreciate it .
