Elimb because these prices are actually not that low given there hasn’t been too much new work announced and basically because when you are big and fat and strong you can bully the rest of the market?
If you have a million shares at the start of the day and you want 1.5 million at close you can simply sell half (or more or less) to all the new buyers
When the price goes down you buy your ‘decoy’ shares back along with all the new ones.
And when you have a compliant vendor who plays by the same rules (as evidenced by those L3 and L5 off market trades) it’s even easier.
These prices are not currently that fantastic to newcomers without significant news so there are probably not huge numbers of purchasers out there beyond the big guys who are already set and spend their time trading the range (whatever it is ) with their trading parcels.
Well that’s my understanding of it anyway.
I might be wrong but as Beerguy pointed out there is actually a science to what is going on and it allows people to play the market.
-Not cheap enough to buy unless you are really keen but still at the highest prices of years ....a perfect invitation to exit if you decide you want to move on especially as atrophy may take the price even lower without news.
That’s why those lower lines on Saragian’s charts are so interesting....like a weather prediction for the next day ....
