The Zinc a lead study group figures on surplus production need to be taken in context, the large surplus was recorded in the year of the GFC when you had all world mines at full capacity, suddenly demand almost shut down yet the mines carried on pumping out zinc at full steam, by the time they reacted it is not surprising they had a 400,000 ton surplus.

It would have been a worry if we had that surplus with no sudden drop in demand caused by the GFC
