Not true! Many online broking platforms allow you to make numerous trades on a single stock and you are charged once at the close of the trading day. Those 1 share trades during the day are placed to manipulate the share price and the particular trader likely follows up with a larger parcel by the end of the day to justify the SINGLE commission charged on the final stock position.
