In my view oil is poised for an imminent price recovery but it's not possible to know exactly when (12 months or more is likely). Earnings are going to lag the oil price recovery but trying to time it exactly is futile.
The best way to invest is with a 5 year view and as close as possible to the cycle bottom. That's the skill in it really, trying to get close but still buy when everyone else sees things as bleak.
