As one of the last casual sea going employee's with them. ( I was finnished up a couple of weeks ago ). It would seem only reasonable to pass any info, I might have on. Nothing too sensitive, but would be well known to the Insto's.

Redundancy's are happening across the pool of Engineer's. Mostly ( probably only ) class 3's are effected. That's an Australian "state" ticket and not IMO recognised.

As correctly noted, many vessels are now "black ship". This is a huge cost on the company, some investors with stars in their eyes, see this as some kind of latent benefit. Strange!

Jaya is bleeding MMA Offshore dry. This is just anecdotal heresay that crew at sea hear. But I believe that there is some truth to this.

The skill set at the slipway in Dampier has been stripped to the bone, beyond even. The only way to run it effectively, is to bring in outside contracting staff. Doable I suppose, but if a vessel needed a major refirb now. Dampier would struggle to supply that service.

Trust me, it's bloody tough in this sector at the present. If it is any consolation, all of MMA Offshore's peers are doing it tough. There will be major casualty's. Will MMA Offshore be one of them, I have no idea.

Sorry to be full of doom and gloom, but that's my recent first hand knowledge of the situation.
