Can I encourage a little more logic and reading between the lines, so to speak.
PE firm wishes to have a controlling stake (around 19.9%) in FUN and approaches ABS to buy their FUN shares for 50c. ABS rejects the offer as insufficient. PE firm comes back and puts a carrot in front of ABS management. You sell us the 22mill shares for 50c, we'll put an announcement out that we are thinking about maybe putting an offer in to takeover FUN, but we'll make it very conditional so its easy to get out of, you guys have the opportunity of selling some of your remaining FUN shares on the market for more than the current share price (around 45-50c) otherwise you'll be holding those last 10mill FUN shares for a long time as nobody is showing any interest in buying them. Obviously ABS doesn't want the FUN shares, they need cash, so the offer is arranged. The market has seen thru it, hence the current FUN share price being around 67c.
