when you are asked to contact support we mean send an email to admin. If you send in a TOU mods have no way of contacting you unless we post on the open forum. Mods only have very limited info on you and you remain as anonymous to us as we to you.
So just for a bit of general info......as mods we don't moderate wrong info. There are 10 to 12 part time mods at anytime, there are 170,000 HC members, there are thousands of posts PER DAY, there is about 3,000 TOUs per month and there are THOUSANDS of little companies on the asx. Now the maths is pretty simple. If someone sends is a TOU saying "This poster is posting misleading info" then how can the mods know if it is or isn't unless they were to start researching that particular stock. Believe it or not some posters will cry "misleading info" simple because they do not want anything negative said about their stock.
Please note that we mods are volunteers. No one pays for HC membership so you have to remember that things are run on a shoe string. So if the volunteer mods, who are also trying to make a quid in the market just like you, were to research every stock every time someone writes in saying "misleading info" then it would take up soooo much of our time that we ourselves would go broke, our wives and husbands would leave us, our children would forget what we look like and our lawns would be 10 foot tall. In short it would not be practical. The only time mods should intervene is if the info was possibly defamatory (and please don't try to stretch the definition of what that means)
So how should wrong info be dealt with?? Clearly the people who know the most about any stock are the ones who own it. They (should) have done their research and usually have the correct info at their finger tips. If wrong info is corrected on the forum by holders then onlookers can watch the whole thing get thrashed out and can learn something and make up their own minds.
