I think it is necessary to recognise the validity of genuine concern expressed by less experienced shareholders who believe that it is a responsibility of a company’s management to provide some measure of pastoral care to bolster confidence in a situation where significant loss of their wealth is occurring, albeit only temporarily.

This should be distinguished from intentional irrational alarmism that uses HC, under whatever alias, to generate doubt in the ability of Management and the Board to grow value for shareholders. Whilst the only counter to this is to attempt to demonstrate the fundamental value and lack of problems existing in the company at the time, those sufficiently influenced by such unsubstantiated claims would need to recognise and accept responsibility for whatever decisions they make.

In this respect, I return to a request for clarification I made to @siren4 a few days ago of a particularly alarming statement that …“We now face potential catastrophic outcomes for all stakeholders.”

So I repeat the question asked. “Would that be due to climate change, Siren?”
