At the AGM, MO specifically mentioned companies that have links with CCE in respect of wave energy.
These companies are EDF, DCNS (now known as Naval Group) and Enel Green Power.
Naval Group and Enel Green Power are coming to Australia to embark on very big projects, namely for submarine and solar farm projects respectively.
Where does CCE come in?
EDF is the northern hemisphere licensees for ceto.
DCNS tried and failed to deploy a Ceto version of their own design.
Enel Green Power are interested in wave energy but so far have not had success. They along with DCNS and CCE are collaborating in Chile.
These quotes from Enel Green Power:
“We are looking at the places on the planet where the waves are highest and strongest, like the oceanic part of the Iberian Peninsula, Africa’s west coast, a large part of the Chilean coast and of North America, and obviously those in Indonesia and Australia that are so well loved by surfers from around the world. ”
“At the moment, in Italy, we are tackling two ‘wave’ technologies: one near-shore and one on-shore, able to transform marine wave energy into electricity.”
– Antonella Colucci, IBO (Innovation Business Opportunities) Marine manager

"The Government more recently established through its industry development arm CORFO (Corporación de Fomento de la Producción) an International Centre of Excellence (ICE) of Marine Energy. Carnegie was selected as wave technology partner in the winning consortium which was led by DCNS and Enel Green Power.
Carnegie is pursuing a number of relationships and opportunities to develop CETO wave power and desalination projects in Chile at present."

Gazing into my crystal ball, I could see any (or all) of these companies wanting a slice of the action, if the new C6 technology proves to be a winner. If that were the case, the wavy energy centre at Albany would take off and rival any wave facility, anywhere in the world.
