Look at the picture. A picture tells a thousand words and the problem with people buying the technology metals story is that they will always see what they want to see, a typical psychology that unsophisticted investors in the stock market exhibit. They just fall in love with a narrative and become the bag holders of the peolple running the nareative.

As far as Ebola goes, the second outbreak still remains a problem for the health authorities in the DRC and highlights the difficulties that still existent in the country, ie gettimg treatment to people living in areas of lawlessness and civil unrest.

The post election climate has been unexpectedly peaceful considering that the election was rigged, I suppose people are giving the new encumbant a chance as anything is better than being ruled at the point of gun. Nevertheless the period leading into the election was always going to be a time of uncertainty so for most investors that actually understand risk, a nervous time. Just because in hindsight the election and aftermath to the election proved relatively peaceful it doesn't mean that fears weren't justified. Hindsight is not an investmemt strategy IMO.

As far as Tesla goes it's going to be challenging year if the sales of their model 3 don't perform. Their debt to equity ratio is high compared to non-US car makers and has just risen after having the recent converible note mature under its maturity value resulting in an unwanted debt repayment of $920 million. The company has also lost about 26% of its value since Dec last year so not tracking very well with the market. This year will be very interesting for that company espesially if the model 3 sales disappoint. The new 35k model will atract very skinny margins and analysts have sugested even if sales improve Tesla doesn't have production capacity to scale up production without more capital, ie more debt.

One the subject of the AVZ capital raising well done to them for finding more money, albeit through Chinese interests which appear to creeping up the share register by stealth at the expense of the existing holders. After all they got offered shares at a known price after the market had been tested by existing holders. If the Chinese, as a group, wanted the share price higher, which would make sense for the largest holders before a dilutionary issue, they would have used some of their seemingly endless resources to bid up the price during the volume weighted average price period, not let it fall like they did.
