ironlung - thanks for your considered response. I appreciate your caution, but I have a fully open mind re SKI's potential strategies. They are clearly interested in Sconi - very interested - but I don't buy the argument that they 'need' Sconi. That is the point of my posting on this issue. They have alternatives - and they will choose the option(s) that best meet their needs and those of their shareholders. Sconi may well be at the top of the pecking order but we don't know for sure yet as they have made no financial commitments and the term sheet is not yet an unconditional contract.
