The AUZ forum is pretty typical of the HC forums I have followed over the years. There are generally 4 types of posters and they are all well represented here. I would characterise them as follows:

1. Pip traders (who may or may not also have longer term holdings) who have no inhibitions about ramping up and down depending on which side of the trade they are on (and which sometimes oscillates depending on the latest trade)
2. Dreamers - who are carried away by the hype and generally fall in love with the company - or at least with their decision to invest in the company. They only see what they want to see and ignore or downplay all evidence to the contrary.
3. Realists - who invest on the hype or their own DD but who do not fall in love with the company and retain the ability to see developments for what they are rather than what they want them to be. Sometimes don't stay around for very long and capable of reinventing their investment strategy as circumstances dictate.
4. Critics, who are interested in the story (much like a sports spectator) who generally watch from the sidelines (but may also be players) and are more interested in understanding and articulating the full story rather than cherry-picked and skewed components of it.

It's pretty clear which 'group' most of the posters here belong to.
