I had a most bizarre experience here in Vancouver. Went to a doughnut shop on Granville Island and ordered a blueberry doughnut. I got some change out of my pocket and the shop assistant said they only take debit card. I had the exact change but she refused to take it. No point arguing as it wasnt her policy but I was thinking things must be pretty good if you refuse custom based on your own derived policy.

Went to Phil Collins concert at Adelaide Oval...had to have a vendor card...had to line up and put cash on their free vendor card so as we could buy drinks and food from several food outlets there ...had to judge how much we needed as we had to line up after the show to get any residue or we could come back when footy was on and use it then...
