Unfortunately incompetence isn't a crime. That's not to say there has not been legal lines crossed. (I believe they crossed one when they handed my name an phone number to Baynton when I began asking about top 20 holdings, who subsequently rang me and threatened me with a defamation action.)
Incompetence usually means diminished career opportunities etc etc. Unfortunately that does not seem to be the case in the business world. Just change your suit, check your wallet is fat, and march on back to the club house and see what else is on offer. Your mates will be there, all the ones you have been dealing out spoils to over the time. They'll look out for you. Add a few drinks and pretty soon you will have come to a unanimous conclusion that it wasn't your fault everything went pear shaped. Anyway who's shout is it? There is this new company about to be formed ...............
