COZ is providing a means for companies to off-set their carbon footprint, full stop. It is a capitalist venture that can also provide in its small way a means of addressing salinity, degredation etc.
What about cotton farming ? The switch to hemp could yield 10x the output of cotton and has many more uses as a food source, bio fuel,textiles and much more O2 output as well.
Rice farming in south western Queensland and the water it consumes with the cotton growers. But political donations by lots of water credits at a subsidy hey.
I admire your stance on this issue yellowcake, but i think there is bigger industries that are far less efficient such as cotton and rice farming.
I dont hold COZ for the simple fact that post election policy never took hold. I thought that Kyoto ratification would have been just the start for COZ, but it seems to have been stood up at the alter for now.
If your worried about starving Africans, donate a tractor and a bag of seeds. Plenty of land, the starvation is manufactured by war, displacement etc.
