Indeed. Most investors in the placement did not buy for a quick buck cause there is limited liquidity to realise it anyway. Funds are there for the potential to make several times their initial investment in the mid to long term. That's why micro funds invest in the space and take long-term views.
For us in the SPP, the quick buck to make 5% is not a strong case unless you just bought the stock to trade it. For many, selling for a 5%-10% and losing the 12-mth tax shield does not make economic sense, especially for those like myself who anticipate the price to be materially higher within the next 6-12 months. But everyone plays a different game so time will tell.
Noise aside, business is going places, execution has been as communicated and i would expect new agreements to surface as Labcon has validated BCT's product for those potential new partners in segments outside bio banking.
