    fotomarc, what you have been told is pretty much correct, but this is more for persons that do this regularly and could be seen as traders. If you want to crystalise a loss on TLS just sell them. If you were thinking of buying them back, just do so in the new FY and perhaps buy them back in 2 lots. Not really a problem unless you are selling lots of loss making shares, and buying them (say) back a couple of days later in the new FY.
    Dont bother buying another stock just to get around this particular ruling.... Its not worth it. If you want to sell TLS like I did on my wifes behalf to offset gains on CSL, you can. The loss on TLS will offset part of the CG on CSL. In her case she bought some Wilson Leaders. IMHO, you are worrying unnecessarily.
