I think that in the short term the price will vary quite a bit. Canopy is a well know company in the Marijuana industry race all across the world and has a slight advantage over other companies but as you said, it is very volatile.

Pot stocks are more of a long term investment and will pay off in a few years once new laws have pulled through. Be cautious if you invest and just be patient, over time we should start seeing results. That's just my opinion though so take it with a grain of salt.
