My understanding of this business is that WinterGarden claim to have a suite of cannabis cultivars which are high in cannabinoid potency/yield. Having these but finding the Canadian regulations irksome is what I believe led Strauss to move to Uruguay. My impression from the research that I have done thus far on Strauss' motivation is that he has an almost messianic belief that he is doing good by promoting the utilisation in medicine of his unique cannabis cultivars, and that his personal history accords with this. So if IGS can fund his work and at the same time persuade him from over-diversifying in his research in the short term then something useful for people in distress might come of this union between IGS and Strauss. To do this best they need to get some top-rate researchers on to the payroll asap to support Strauss.
If they get the science right then this will give IGS a significant advantage in the allopathic medical market place in due course because of the value of the high-yield cultivars. IGS might also benefit in the short term from talking to CDY; they seem to have a strategy in place for their hair growth promoting product - based on what I perceive to be reasonable scientific research - that IGS might learn from.
