QFT is detecting individuals with ‘true’ TB infection, as is evident from presentations that included many tens
of thousands of QFT tests that have been performed throughout the world. A search for individuals negative
to QFT and who later developed TB only found one case, in which the individual was immunosuppressed
and also TST negative. This further confirms the high sensitivity of QFT for latent TB infection.
