imho in retail, management is everything. Brand strength can come and go (Billabong, Country Road) so if you think the sector has potential go with the guys who know how to do it best. Solly is a very hard man and he knows that the secret to success is to hire people smarter than yourself. He is not particularly likeable but he knows how to make money, not friends.
I rarely recommend stocks but I put some of my friends into PMV and they now think I know what I'm talking about. They are waiting for more but they will wait a long time :)
The initial post on this thread was excellent from intsub and reading his posts he is an "innerestin" poster - seems to have disappeared unfortunately and maybe has some other interests as he always linked to another site.
Regarding your investment strategy - if I may - when you like a stock don't try to finesse the entry - pull the trigger!
