    Bit confused, so you think that buying MTI for $7 million with a likely profit of say $3 million (at very best based on a very low private sale PE) will create a monster tech business to soften the fall of Cabcharge?

    Maybe... but try making up the profit and revenue shortfall in time with this transformation you are talking of. Highly risky and a massive stretch.
    If you were to invest in an IPO of a new tech company entering the payments space for the taxi business. Do you think it is a wise investment when this market is in the midst of disruption? Who are your customers in the Australian taxi monopoly and how much do they have to spend?

    Even if that were to happen. They are not cutting edge. There are a myriad of companies who can integrate payment systems and create apps. Not difficult in this day and age.

    MTI will likely make things more seamless payment-wise which is good of course.
    The payment process advantage of Uber is Paypal. You get out of the car without needing to do a thing. All done in the background. If Cabcharge do this, they can at least tick the box where seamless payments are concerned.

    Cabcharge currently has the booking app which to make 'seamless', you can enter credit card details which is time consuming before the booking and then time consuming when they exit as they still have to stop the meter, select the quick pay button and they they can exit (no matter how quick, it is longer than Uber so it is a disadvantage). You can park in more convenient locations with Uber as a result and don't have to find a rank or more suitable location to park to go through the longer exit process. The devil is in the details.

    Cabcharge is not competitive in all facets, service, payments & price. Insurance for CAB drivers is around 8x the insurance of an Uber driver. Licenses fees to drive a CAB are huge. Uber entry is next to nil in comparison. Try running a competitive business in that landscape.

    Cabcharge has ONE advantage at a stretch. That is the older generation. They are not as tech savy and Uber is just too hard for them.

    This company has a long way to fall even if it retains the markets that are incapable/unsure/scared of making the change to ride sharing.

    Would love to hear more in-depth analysis from you to counter the argument. 'Your info is trash bro' holds no weight and helps no one.
