Woods, start at the pointy end, the spread between buy and sell. Note the volumes. Are they large and clustered? I see RFF can have a nice jump on Monday from this moment's market depth data.
I look only at the volumes of shares on bid by the buyers, and volumes on offer, not the number of separate buyers and sellers.
That's a start.
