These prices are great. I bought the majority of my holdings in my last year of university down below 2 cents so it doesn't bother me.
I must admit though that my main concern has become the number of uninformed posters and holders. From people saying that 4DS will be used in cloud storage because they're making 300mm wafers that are too big for phones. These posters clearly don't realise that the ENTIRE industry produces on 150mm, 250mm and ore predominant 300mm wafers (possibly 450mm wafers in the future). Multiple chips (i.e. dies) are made on these wafers and they are the SAME chips that are in your phones, tablets etc etc. They make a wafer full of chips at a time...the 'dinner plate' wafer is not a single chip.
Another common misconception is that 4DS is years ahead of WBT. They are taking different routes, WBT is proving and scaling the levels of abstraction first (i.e. single cell, 4Kb array, 1Mb array) then optimising to meet and exceed industry standards, ensuring that their 1Mb array has the right characteristics to move to a fab facility as stated in the Commsec Executive Series interview around 8-9minutes. Found here:
.
Also, note that I've said 1Mb, and not 1MB as these are different.
4DS created a 40nm cell (Announced 18/10/2016), measured and optimised the parameters and they're now developing the 1Mb array in IMEC's R&D fab (An R&D fab, not a production fab). I believe that this is risky as the same metrics may not scale from the cell to the array. It's likely that they will need to optimise the characteristics again but then again, they may not. If they don't, they'll still need to move to a Production Fab and adapt it just as WBT will have to. WBT has the benefit of Yoav Nissan-Cohen and Dadi Perlmutter for this. 4DS has Western Digital.
All in all, I think that the share price is a reflection of the lottery ticket mentality of misinformed and poorly researched holders that are sitting in the red, rather than the actual fundamentals of the company.
