stuffed up the example above,
if your cost price was $8 , and you submit say 1000 shares in the buyback , your capital loss is only (8-2.76)*1000= $5240 not the 14240 shown above, the dividend part was correct.
I guess it depends on what you paid and what tax rate you pay to see whether its worth doing and whether your offsetting the loss against gains sold that were held less than 12m or greater than 12m.
