Leighton Holdings Limited (LEI) today reported that it had entered into an agreement with the NSW State Government to upgrade the Windsor Road in Sydney’s northwest. The $105 million contract will see Leighton upgrade 5.6 kilometres of road at Kellyville and Baulkham Hills.
NSW Minister for Roads Mr Carl Scully said the Windsor Road upgrade is the largest urban arterial road program undertaken by any State Government.
Key features of the upgrade are the addition of two extra traffic lanes to that stretch of Windsor Road, new traffic signals with pedestrian crossings at Victoria Avenue and Baulkham Hills Private Hospital, bus bays on both sides of Windsor Road, and shared pedestrian and cycle path along the southern side of Windsor Road.
The company advised that work is expected to start at Baulkham Hills in April 2005 and at Kellyville in June 2005, with completion expected in late 2006.
