Elsight certainly has the right technology offering at the right time. While the development of autonomous vehicles is on an exponential growth trajectory, a recent White Paper by Cisco Systems suggests other possibilities of immediate relevance to Elsight's high-speed, low latency, secure video solution.

According to Cisco, "... more than three-fourths of the world’s mobile data traffic will be video by 2021. Mobile video will increase 9-fold between 2016 and 2021, accounting for 78 percent of total mobile data traffic by the end of the forecast period" (as illustrated below):

Elsight's solution will focus on real-time video, which is a growing proportion of this traffic, and will include Augmented Reality ('a view of a real-world environment whose elements are supplemented and enhanced by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video or graphics').

Cisco's White Paper discusses how AR (and Virtual Reality) are "... poised to be the next set of the biggest trends in mobile technology" (sic). Augmented Reality is primarily being "... driven by industrial applications such as retail, medicine, education, tourism, retail shopping (furniture, clothes comparison, etc.) – just to name a few."
