Thank you for addressing this subject so comprehensively Pioupiou.
I don’t mind if they use dividend money to strengthen the company ....but the big holders might not like it.

This old headline from AFR painted a bleak picture of how AASB 16 would impact on Wesfarmers and Woolworths

“Wesfarmers, Woolworths liabilities to double under lease accounting change
    Sue Mitchell
    Jul 9, 2017 — 11.00p
Woolworths' and Wesfarmers' liabilities will double and Myer's liabilities will treble in 2019 – but not because of major “

    And here’s a link to :https://www.governmentnews.com.au/new-standard-to-shake-up-government-leases/
It says the impact on government will be massive and there won’t be any more more peppercorn rents on old halls and similar....

Closer to home, I wonder how this impacts companies in our sector that specialise in renting/leasing machinery?
    Seven Group and Emeco ....
If the cost of leasing is, as you read it, ie higher in the early years then they might be in a winning position because ‘everybody’ is wanting machinery right now .

    Cheers
