An update there is that Omega Construction is now in liquidation owing $1.6million

“The company appears to have been trading successfully until it took this (NorthLink) contract,” Mr Thomson said. “It appears the debts owed are related entirely to the GNC contract.
“In a liquidation scenario, it is unusual to see super and tax payments almost up to date.”

West Gate Tunnel builders go to Fair Work in bid to force agreement

Construction of a key Andrews government transport project, the West Gate Tunnel, is in industrial strife after the toll road's builders failed to strike a deal with the state’s powerful building unions.

Having failed to reach agreement with unions after more than a year of talks, the consortium of construction firms building the $6.7 billion road went to the Fair Work Commission on Friday.

They want to force through a workplace agreement for the project using controversial federal coalition laws.

Unions have accused the project's builders, John Holland and CPB Contractors, of using the federal government laws to cut industry conditions and pay on the massive project.”
