Whatever is going on at Forrestfield it looks as if -on trading day two of this story - the price at least is (still) not going down the drain .
(probably not the Air Link either)
I don’t know if anyone else yesterday seamlessly converted to the mindset that FAL was Salini’s ‘child’ not ours?
I did although of course it is not. NRW has a 20% JV in the FAL and earned something like $150 million from works there last year (if I remember correctly )
Securing this contract was power for company growth to the price point we find ourselves at today which (as said) continues to hold strong :
-Possibly because the 20% JV is such a small part these days of the NRW Holdings offering ?
Still I cannot find any updates even though put my old ‘journalist’ hat back on and called the media information number.
Alas the person who answered didn’t feel there was ‘press’ credibility in “posting at an online share discussion site called Hot Copper”.
(Silly me! I might have said I was from Channel 7 needing comment to substantiate a claim the Swan River had changed course to follow the groundwater ingress through the leak in the cross tunnel shaft*)
Anyway if anyone sees any updates please post them and, meanwhile, fingers crossed the issue is resolved swiftly and safely
(*It hasn’t . Nor do trapped workers need to build an ark ..
However I worked as a cadet at a newspaper with those kinds of sensationalist biases -the ‘sell’ not the story - a long time back.
One day for fun I wrote a few hundred words about a dear old lady who had fallen on hard times and now slept under a local bridge. She was forced to live on apples. She only wore green and her name was Granny Smith .
The news editor grabbed it (we typed stories on real paper in those days) and loved it
He was phoning for one of the photographers to go to the bridge when I urgently confessed it was a joke and.....well they moved me to a weekly paper to cover school fetes after that : /.
(I don’t think this would have happened if he had been reading the story rather than the ‘sell’))
Cheers
