Major infrastructure project springs a leak
A leak has sprung in the Forrestfield-Aiport Link tunnels causing a sink hole in Dundas Road, Forrestfield.
The leak began yesterday afternoon at 1pm and efforts to plug it began soon after, continuing throughout last night.
At present groundwater and silt are continuing to flow into one of the tunnels.

Dundas Road has been closed to traffic and both tunnel-boring machines have been halted while attempts are made to plug the leak.
The sinkhole appeared directly above the site and is currently being repaired.
Leaks in tunnels are a known issue.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Safety managers are onsite and measures have been put in place to ensure worker safety.
