Hi Parma ... I don’t know about ‘spent’ but I think a few have fainted away into the afterglow
Maybe including ’ @mmv621 ? (I feel the thread will continue regardless)
To go into specifics @Srebtna seems to have flagged that not only does she have the mother of all hangovers but her current research is into holiday destinations... You are also heading out of town ...our most beloved and entirely inimitable technical navigator not only away but also on rations ...and the only reason even I am here is to avoid the screams of pain that are most likely going on over at RCR (which started trading again at last after its long suspension and appears to have lost 62%)
....we could try for another coup?
I’m thinking recipes lately .....
Also counting my blessings ( squinting quickly at RCR which now appears to be only 60% down) that NRW did not go into solar when ‘every man and his dog’ was getting into it ..
In regards this I remember grizzling lavishly some time back when discussion here focused on the advantages of finding a specialist niche.
I was textually sour RCR Tomlinson had had ‘the smarts’ to focus on such a lucrative avenue and we had not .
If anyone from NRW management happened to read that post they must have been shaking their heads with amusement.
.NRW was already ten steps ahead.
As I read it ( via several stories in ‘Renew Economy’ it turns out solar is a bête noir for more than RCR
Cimic and Downer are among others being impacted.
I posted this elsewhere but it is relevant here so I will link to it again (although the head of Downer is Grant FENN not Finn!)
“Interestingly......, the head of another major solar contractor Downer Group, noted in his company’s recent results, that the renewables business was booming and most projects were large-scale and “were not particularly difficult in themselves engineering wise.”
But he said: “Because they’re bid at pretty tight margins, you can’t have too many things that upset you. Whether it be ground conditions or weather or whatever. I think all of the contractors are still in a position of making sure that they have very good execution on construction of these projects.
“Every man and his dog is in there trying to build these things,” Finn said.

Anyway as said I am open to recipe exchange, bitching about other companies, hearing where you are going for your holiday or discussing possible specialist avenues other than solar which NRW might more profitably explore
Or anything
