As to how the institutions play the market I am certain they do in every way possible.... the range of options; microsecond trades, day trades, momentum trades, hedge trades, index trades and every other method of buying and selling is used to maximise financial advantage by mega entities competing with each other .
And Kings of the jungle are the mega mega entities like Cerberus Capital Management and Renaissance Technologies https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance_Technologies
(I learned about them because they supported the Trump campaign and there was a story somewhere that using quantitive trading methods Renaissance was able to pull millions of dollars out of ‘the ether’ in seconds using extremely sophisticated quantitive trading techniques....
The Cerberus man, Feinberg is amongst other things is a military contractor currently appointed to lead the investigation into US intelligence ..and I won’t post links because I find I actually prefer to focus on the fate of sparrows after all )
If my theory is correct the price has been restrained intentionally and, even if there is nothing unexpected in tomorrow’s update the price will be allowed to get a ‘leg up’
