Nice to meet you Simon .
They do both seem to be good companies with smart leaders who think ahead .
In terms if this (wondering around a bit), I’ve even been curious if MIN’s takeover play of Atlas was actually just a ‘takeover play’ to focus attention elsewhere whilst Chris Ellison quietly applied to develop the South West Creek facility in Port Hedland and then stitched up the joint venture with Brockman. ... He seemed to back out of Atlas with such nonchalance and seemingly had number of other ‘ducks’ perfectly lined up.
..And I will look up more about the NorthWest Rapid Transport Consortium ... ( I knew it was Cimic and John Holland and others but hadn’t realised there was a revolutionary design being implemented ).
Before NRW bought Golding, Golding had completed a big rail project in Brisbane/Gold Coast and a video about it said the company used concrete sleepers.....that’s about as far as I had got in terms of experiencing modern rail technology until I saw that BOSS video !
Luckily I trust NRW is far ahead of both me and hopefully of the Sydney consortium.
It will need to be if it wants to tender for any more of those important government infrastructure jobs including the $3.8 billion Metronet project in WA. http://www.railjournal.com/index.php/australia-nz/perth-metronet-secures-federal-funding.html
To this end, as said , I have noticed the company making mention of more strengths and more staff in software development including this ad back in June. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1979928828708365&id=260204174014181
For anyone interested and as ignorant as me here is a quick story about how ‘computer designed’ precast concrete is being used in Sydney https://www.ccaa.com.au/iMIS_Prod/CCAA/Public_Content/RESOURCES/Case_Studies/Concrete_makes_it_work_-)_Sydney_Metro_Northwest.aspx?WebsiteKey=4998d6ce-2791-4962-b1e2-6b717f54a8d3 )
Cheers
