Exactly its a false idea, it's not a meritocracy but a managerial/beuracratic aristocracy.
Management "quality" is not overly important what is important for investors is a skeptical attitude and prudent management who you constrain from overfeeding at the shareholder trough.
Who benefits from immigration, house price inflation and credit growth - why the people who own the wage slaves of course. In a hypothetical democratic country a decision to dramatically increase the population would have been discussed and debated as it affects everyone.
There's a lot of speculation in house prices which is going to end badly. The prices are divorced from incomes and rents.
Asking my opinion on a stock because you like the management then rejecting my opinion because I am an anarchist sympathizer marks you as a bigot and a shitty investor. Neither of which is my problem.
