It's sort of I the CFO am "good" and capitalism is "right" which you have built into your identity. That's how the 1% of society justify your actions among each other, what we do is "good".

The 99% don't see it that way, they do all the work despite not because of the beuracrat "governance class" (aka old boys club).

When the 1% all hang out with each other, learn the same things at University, value the same things they perceive a narrow ideological universe and things outside of their beliefs they cannot accept.

Of course the 1% make the capital allocation decisions, little wonder that they do such a poor job that it is a relatively simple matter to research the best ideas of the past and absolutely obliterate them at their own game.

As an engineer I certainly have my own biases, I see technology as the solution too often - flooding a valley as progress. Dealing with real things and kept humble by working people constructing things and bollocking me for cock-ups.
This helps.
