Nooooooo ...
I mean yes to cautious investing .... My own book is full of pages that need to be torn out .
But what gives you the certainty our guys can’t see the wider picture?
In this small corner of reality - ie as far as my own ‘here’ goes, NRW is a company servicing the industrial machine only in an historic sense where physical elements of the industrial revolution are/were still seen as ‘the machine’
My opinion is the ‘machine’ grew out of that stage way back and can genuinely be metaphored as a beast cultivating, amongst other things , “irrational respect of unaccountable authority” to service a “gravy train” that’s no longer even remotely dependant on real life railways.
NRW wasn’t around in the days when miners were sent down into the coal pits to perish and if you read the reviews on SEEK most of the current workforce feels as loyal and supportive as the shareholders.
However ...
I agree the potentially perilous alter ego of the company- ‘NWH’ (as opposed to ‘NRW’ ) is in service (along with a host of other anonymous stock codes) to digging up the materials to feed Morloch or Moloch
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/moloch
- a deity whose worship was marked by the propitiatory sacrifice of children by their ownparents. II Kings 23:10; Jer. 32:35.
- anything conceived of as requiring appalling sacrifice:the Moloch of war.
- (lowercase) a spiny agamid lizard, Moloch horridus, of Australian deserts, that resemblesthe horned lizard.
..but even there, as a company that physically works a lot in the outback as well as one being worked as an anonymous gravy spoon in the financial world I identify our management as more of a number 3 player in the Moloch scenario.
ie the Thorny Devil.
It serves my own needs to believe the individuals at NRW Holdings actually do have as much as a grasp on the ‘wider picture’ as is humanly possible.
The widest picture of all ?
“In the case of archery, the hitter and the hit are no longer two opposing objects, but are one reality.”
Zen and the art of Archery ..Eugen Herrigel
If - drawing a long bow here - Moloch and me happen to be one and the same, then I prefer to be self aware about it croasian and to try to face up to my current realities and work with gratitude within the limitations, and genuinely take responsibility for consequences .
And I project this attitude onto the Management and other people agree and expand upon it and - however illusory - within the brave new world of subliminal shazzbutter propaganda there’s a little club here of human beings gathered, via a stock code, into being a part of NRW Holdings.
We all have different agendas ..and you are most likely right that “profitability” is a main one .
But wherein lies profit? That’s perhaps easy for me to say as I did enter at a good time and currently my dollar profits here are still greater than various losses on other pages in my book but it’s still an important question .
Is it in being rich and having a bum like Kim Kardashian?
Or getting that Lamborghini Aventador?
Cheers and thanks again
