The current Liberal Government while certainly more advanced than the Liberal Government of 2014 is still a short sighted party that has little respect for the views of the Opposition and the end result is necessary reforms are blocked and the economy is threatened.

If the Government really wants to implement changes it should be prepared to break up bills according to the popularity of the bill amongst the Opposition rather than trying to ram in Omnibus bills.

If the Turnbull government is really serious about passing media reforms, let them break up the Media Bills to pass the popular ones (like spectrum fee reductions) first and properly debate the unpopular ones such as the reach rule with a view to explain the view fully instead of just ramming it down our throats (and yes I know there is an inherent bias to passing the reduced spectrum fees as an owner of Prime shares).

Been willing to negotiate and explain views is a sign of good government and will go a long way to gaining approval and respect of the people.
