    Haven't tried any other apps yet, just running with the free LiFX app and Apple Home app. Had a bit of a play around using siri to turn on/off dim etc, pretty cool. There was a notification on the LiFX app that there was an upgrade available, this was a click and took a matter of seconds. All very easy.
