Many years ago in the days of nasho's i was at a CMF annual camp in the bush. a couple of days before the end of camp a few of us conspired to pull a prank, at each meal time one of the medics would discreetly empty a sachet of sugar into the tea urn and we would spread the rumor that it was bromide.
Well a number of troops decided that they had not woken up with the usual morning firmness and started to worry that their welcome home that weekend from the girlfriend may not be to their liking.
On the day of departure the rumor started that anti bromide pills would be made available for the married men.
Of course there was great demand and begging from the "studs" to obtain one of these pills and they were sympathetically issued, to the great amusement of fellow troops when it was discovered the "pills" were really laxatives causing many urgent stops and frantic dashes into the bush.
