But he has also been chairing the board at Amex Resources (AXZ), which is developing the Mba Delta iron-sands project in Fiji. Kingsnorth long ago told the board he would retire once the exploration phase was over. ...

The new chairman is Xiao Qin, who comes not only with experience in petroleum and mining operations, but has held senior financial jobs in China, including those of president of Citic and chairman of China Merchant Bank. With supplies of haematite diminishing, iron sand is increasingly in demand by Chinese steelmakers for blending with other ore."
