The bad news is that shorts are up steeply.

The good news is I did some more research.

Shorts on TGR tend to peak around this time each year, and then drop off steeply after reporting. No corresponding drop in SP. I then checked commsec. It turns out TGR tends to surprise the market with better results than expected. So although the shorters tend to target TGR at this time each year, each year the shorters leave disappointed, haha
